To kick start one of my most recent textiles-based projects, I created a series of small scale sketchbook paintings. This was so beneficial in terms of establishing set colour schemes, patterns and shapes (all of which were based on a trip to Santorini!) early on within the project. I then begun transferring these colours and patterns over onto fabrics. Ink was used to dye certain aspects of these fabric samples, along with watered-down gouache paint. All of these experiments lead me to create a large-scale needle-felted final piece.
